Google is an American company, which specialize, in internet-related services and products. Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in 1998. Google has its headquarter in Mountain View, California. Googles revenue in 2012 were 50,18 billion $, and its profit were 10,74 Billion $. Totally there works more than 46.000 people at Google. Known Google products are YouTube, Motorola, Google Plus and Android.

Since it’s founding Google has been committed to active philanthropy and to addressing the global challenges of climate change, education and poverty. Since 2007 Google has supported a series of social initiatives in China. An example of Googles philanthropy in China is a social innovation cup for College Students.

Google data centers use 50% less energy compared to other companies data centers.

Google has installed solar panels on their roofs and created a bike-to-work program for the employees. These initiatives reduce the emission of more than 21.500 metric tons of CO2 per year.

Google is striving to power their company with 100 % renewable energy by committing a billion $ to renewable energy projects. They even want to produce far more renewable energy than they can use in the company.
