Punk rock is a rock music that developed between 1976 and 1976 in the UK, the US and Australia. Punk bands created fast, hard-edged music. Their songs were typically short and often political, anti-establishment lyrics. Many bands produced their own recordings and sent them out through informal channels.
Punk fashion can range from a simple white T-shirt and ripped jeans to a studded-leather corset with torn fishnet stockings and spiked knee-high boots. Traditionally punk fashion was intended to provoke. They can also wear leather and spikey accessories, and maybe a Mohawk for more effect.
In classic punk outfits combat boots and customized blazers are mixed. A dress shirt with anti-establishment slogans written could be worn under a leather jacket. Denim jackets were also commonplace.
Glam punk fashion is a more flamboyant expression of individuality. This style uses glitter, bright colors, animal prints, and makeup for both males and females. A glam punk outfit might include an electric-blue satin shirt and tightly fitting leopard print pants. This style is associated with the early 1970s band, the New York Dolls.
