What is advertising? Advertising is communication process and covers many different media. Advertising is about selling a product or service. The seller or manufacturer of a product wants to tell you how great his product is. If you open up your eyes and look around you, you will see advertising everywhere. Open up a newspaper or look at a magazine. Take a walk down the street you will find ads on buildings. Even if you take a train or bus ride. Go home and look in your closet. I am pretty sure you have a t-shirt or a sweatshirt with kind of advertising on. Maybe you have a football shirt or cap with your favorite team.

So everywhere you look, you will find advertisements. It is an unavoidable part of everyone's life, but is that a good or bad thing? A bad thing about ads is some advertisements lie to us, because it is only about selling the product. For example, in a mascara commercial where they tell us that if you buy this mascara, so you get the best looking and longest eyelashes, and of course we know it is not true. But anyway, we go down and buy the new mascara in the hope that it actually was true this time. It is not just with mascara that we do so, but with everything we find interesting. We are tempted to buy, through a good advertising.
