What do people in Great Britain eat?. The British food culture has traditionally been based on: lamb, beef, pork, chicken and fish, which are generally served potatoes and other vegetables. The most common foods eaten in Britain include sandwiches, pies and the famous fish and chips. Some of the British main dishes has strange names like: toad-in-hole ore ploughman´s lunch, which are sausages covered in batter and roasted and a ploughman´s lunch is a chunk of bread with a slice of cheese, a bit of pickle and pickled onion.

English traditional dishes:

The traditional English kitchen have had competition from other kitchens over the years, such as the American kitchen, but if you visit England, you can still be served the traditional foods.

What is the traditional British food from breakfast to dessert?

There are several ”traditional/typical” British breakfast’s, but what is more traditional than the well-known ”English breakfast” which usually is consisting of bacon, sausages, baked beans and eggs, served with a variety of side dishes like toast, or any other kind of bread, several kinds of jam, a good cup of tea and what have you.

Lunch:

During an ordinary week, lunch often consists of a classic sandwich also known as a 'butty' or 'sarnie' another thing is a little bigger dish like toad-in-hole ore ploughman´s. often eaten with a bag of crisps on the side.
