Many people in Britain don´t like the term Bame, because they believe that the word Bame places people who are black, Asian, or have a different ethnic background, in a box that they should identify as. The people with a different ethnic background wants to identify themselves as more than just Bame, they don’t want to be put in a box with many different identities. For example, the black man in the second video “Four people from different backgrounds discuss the term ’BAME’ (1:51)” he wants to be called black because that is what he identifies as (00:5). They think the term Bame segment the white people and all the other people that identifies a something else.

The identity of Britshness

Some people in britain don’t know what to identify as, if they want do be english or british or both. The modern time in Britain there have come a lot of different cultures to Britain and for some people especially black, Asian or other multicultural people that lives in the UK it can be hard to know or decide what you identify as, sometimes you may feel British and sometimes you may feel Asian. People that live in Britain should be able to feel British in some situations and feel English or another identity in some other situations. In the UK they should celebrate their differences instead of looking down at people with another culture.
