The British people didn't treat the people of India that well. The British people came at first with peace, and were interested in the culture of India, but then later, the English people started to take over the country. And they saw the country as theirs, and not the Indian's. And every person that lived in India first (The Indian people), were treated as children, meant like; They weren't treated equal as a normal British person were. They were seen more as children. They weren't important, and their needs came last. The English people started to kind of hate the Indian people, and dislike their culture, so they started to put up fences around their English colonies. This were very ironic, because it was because of the culture, that the British people came at first, but now they disliked it, but they still wanted to take over the country, instead of just leaving it.
In India the British people tried to create boundaries between themselves, and the Indian people. They were building this boundary, because they wanted to stay British, they didn't want to be a part of the Indian culture, but keep their own traditions and such. The Britons were getting hostile, and started to build English houses, instead of the traditional Indian homes. They also started to build fences, because they started to fear the Indian people for some reason. The British people felt more safe when they built their cities in the British ways.I believe that the English people feared that the Indians would try to protest, and hunt the Britons out of the country. So the Britons wanted to feel safe. Now a days, people build boundaries to have an overview of which is theirs, and which is not.People get hostile, when random people pick up their stuff to look at it or something like that, and I get that. You fear every moment that it could be stolen, or that it will break, because if it does, you have to use money to repair it, or buy a new one, and people are very careful with their money, because you don't got an unlimited money amount.
