My name is Sam Carter. I am 14 years old and live in Cape Town, the capital of South Africa. I live in the outskirts of the city with my mom Angela, my dad and my two littlebrothers William and Oscar. My mom is unemployed at the time, because some companys won`t hire her, since she is black. And that is how it is for the rest of the family as well. Fx. at some restaurants I can`t even get in, because it is only for white people. Sometimes it is hell being black here.
Right now I am sitting in my compartment, just thinking about the things that are bad about being black. If i will ever get the possibility to oppose the race discrimination i will do it. i am leaving my room to go and play football with my friends as i have planned.I am walking out of the house and across the street to the footballcourt. The street here is mostly a black peoples street, since there are almost no whites. So here I can walk without people looking at me with their starring eyes. I can see my friends playing football when I arrive. They are all black. None of my friends are white. I am even going to a school for blacks, so I have like no contact to any whites at all. That is totally because of the apartheid between blacks and whites.
