Summary
The study examines the role of negative social inheritance. There is a clear tendency for children who have lived in a less ressourceful upbringing environment run the risk of remaining in a similar social position as their parents. This assignment will investigate the relationship between social classes and negative social inheritance and define why it is hard to break this by looking into social and cultural structures. To show the connection between social inheritance, social classes and education, theories of social capital and language use will be explained. Social inheritance continues for several generations. The educational system maintain students in the negative social inheritance because it is organized with use of elaborated languagecodes and expects students to be able to decode this language, which is a problem for individuals coming from less resorceful environments. There is a significant relationsship between which social class you are brought up in and which social class you belong as an adult. Negative social inheritance and restrained languagecodes give unequal life chances for children in the education system.
