Molly, Daisy and Gracie are 3 children living with their mothers. They are the first aboriginals in Australia. One day a policeman came to their society and took the 3 children with him, because they have a white dad. It wasn’t allowed. The kids came to Moore River, it was a place where children there had a father who was white. Molly, Daisy and Gracie got some establishment, but they weren’t co-operative. They were scared, shy and insecure about the situation. They wanted to go home and it 1200 miles away. So Molly got an idea. So she ran away with her sister and her cousin. But the tracker man was right behind them all the time. On the way home, the kids’ meets different people and one of them was a man who was lying in front of them. So little Gracie trusted him and walked her own way. Gracie got caught and Molly and Daisy cried. But they must keep going. They walked 9 weeks but they made it.
Why is it called Rabbit proof fence?
We think it’s because the white wanted the black should be white after three generations. And we also think its because of apartheid. The white on the right side and the black on the other side, they must be separated.
