“We could hear explosions, gunfire and shrapnel winding down from the sky.”
Two young teens moving around in London in the middle of the night during the war experienced the worst night of their lifetime.
Well it all started when the two young teens Bill and Julia, was on their way to cross the Thames.
It was a quiet night, when they climbed up to the bridge. Suddenly they heard a huge bang, and the air left them up and threw them against the fencing while the air pressed them down and they almost couldn’t breath. They dragged on hands and knees away. They didn’t say anything for a long time, but when they got up, the water of the river was a sheet of orange and gold. The great dome of St. Paul’s was burning. They fortunately survived a big explosion.
Why would you cross the Thames?
“We wanted to cross the Thames because, we wanted to try to experience a new place and some new things.”
Where did you two met each other?
“We met incidentally in the underground station at half past six in the morning.”
Julia, how did you feel after the big explosion?
“I was scared because suddenly it wasn’t dark, and I just wanted it to be dark like a normal night.
