Skribentens beskrivelse af Poverty is a state of mindIn 2007 the financial crisis hit most of the world and also Britain. The discussion about the breach between the rich and the poor started to blush up again. Many people have a hard time supporting their families and themselves. Poverty has always been a central subject in any country and that is also the central subject in the autobiographic essay “Poverty is a state of mind”. The essay, written by Bernard Hare, reflects over poverty from his own experiences through life and poverty in general and he argues that poverty is in the mind. But is it? Bernard Hare was born into poverty in a working neighbourhood in Leeds. His father was a coal miner and his mom was a part time shop worker. Even though his family very rarely had a larger amount of money and had trouble making anything going around, Bernard had a good time growing up and wasn’t bothered that the family had few coinage. |
