The woodstock festival was a music and art festival held in 1969 with the message: 3 days of peace and music. In 1969 was there expected 100.000 people to the festival, but 450.000 skowed up instead and half of them didn't have a ticket. It was held from 15th to 18th august The woodstock festival became a very big and famous event, and Rolling Stone listed it as one of the 50 moments that changed rock and roll history. With the message "three days of peace and music" Woodsock was with to represent one of the highlights in the hippie culture at the end of the 1960's. Woodstock got its name from the city "Woodstock" and the festival should have been held in the city, but the local authority didn't think that there were enough space so instead it was held 60 miles from the city. Some of the big musicians that played there were for an example: Jimi hendrix, Joan Baez and Country Joe and the fish.

Jimi Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix) was born on November 27th in 1942 in seatle washington. Jimi Hendrix was a very popular singer and he was known to be an excellent guitarist. His band was named the "Jimi Hendrix Experience" and they played a lot of rock genres. Now we are going to play a song by Jimi Hendrix called "Hey Joe"
