Harry Potter is the story about a boy who has lived his entire life oppressed by his aunt, uncle and cousin, until the day that he is visited by a giant, who brings him the news of his acceptance into Hogwarts, school for witchcraft and wizardry. He is also told that his parents themselves were wizards, making him one too.

In this particular scene, we see the titular character explore an enchanted mirror with the ability to show anyone, who chooses to look upon it, their biggest, most desperate desire in the world. In the case of Harry Potter, the desire he sees in the mirror, is his deceased family, of whom he doesn't have any, since all of them passed when he was at the age of two. It starts to show that the more he looks in the mirror, the bigger his need of being near it is. Harry Potter is a character who has grown up without a caring and loving family, for the entirety of his life they never told him once, that they actually love him. He is an orphan and in Hogwarts he´s a celebrity, known as the boy who lived, the boy who survived, he has, however, never known the love of a mother.
