The story starts of at 4 Privet Drive, where a wizard and a witch (named Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall) are dropping of a baby on the doorstep. But it isn’t just a normal baby, its Harry Potter – The boy who lived.
Harry is called “The boy who lived” because the infamous and evil wizard Voldemort, tried to kill him when he was a baby. But Voldemort couldn’t. He had killed an awful lot of people (including Harrys mom and dad) – but he couldn’t kill the little innocent baby Harry. Therefor Harry Potter is very famous all over the wizard world, but because he is raised by ‘muggles’ (non-magic people) he doesn’t know about this until he gets older. But back to the storyline
The doorstep Harry is dropped on is owned by his oppressive uncle and aunt Dursley, and their little devil of a boy called Dudley. Dudley and Harry are about the same age, even though Harry is much more mature. They grow up as a very normal family with Harry not knowing about his wizarding genes.
Harry then one day gets a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and since his so called family refuses him to go, a big man called Hagrid comes and safes Harry and takes him to the wizard world. Hagrid works for Dumbledore (which is the headmaster of Hogwarts) and is send to take Harry to Hogwarts, and help him get his school supplies. While getting Harrys school supplys, they also are going to get some money for Harry. And let’s put it this way – His parents left him a lot! But in the bank, they don’t only get money. Hagrid is also getting a little package, and he tells Harry not to tell anyone about it.
