Many young people, including myself, spend a lot of time playing computer games. I personally believe the reason for this is that the ability, to indulge in a foreign world and not think about stress or what we have to do is very compelling. We do of course also need to think about our health and social life, even with so many interesting games on the current market.

A game I find incredibly fascinating is a real time strategy game called ‘Planetary Annihilation’.

Real time Strategy meaning that you plan out how to build units and structures using a main unit with the capabilities to build basic unit factories. These unit factories can then continue to build ‘fabricators’ and combat units. Fabricators are units specialized in building, they are often cheap and quick to build and will be able to build advanced factories, unlocking even more possibilities. Besides building units in a real time strategy game, you would also need to manage an economy often consisting of two main components. These components are more often than not a resource such as ‘metal’ and ‘energy’. You need to keep up your production of these to match your usage by creating ‘metal extractors’ for metal on designated spots often called ‘ore deposits’. For energy you need to build ‘energy plants’ which can be built anywhere. All of this is of course managed dynamically in real time.
