To me, Futurama has always been one of my favorite sitcoms. It is an animated show drawn by Matt Groening, also know for The Simpsons. The series is about a guy called Philip J. Fry. He is a pizza boy in the 20th century New York and not very smart. On New Year’s Eve 1999 he has a delivery job to a scientific laboratory, but there is no one to take the delivery. So since he is alone that night he begins to eat the pizza and exploring the lab and exactly at midnight he slips into a machine that freezes him down until sometime in the future. When he wakes up from his hibernation he has arrived in the 31st century. Now he starts to explore the city which is now called New New York and lies on top of the old New York. He then finds a phone booth and tries to call somebody. In the line in front of the “phone” booth there is a robot that is sick of his life and it turns out that the phone booth is rather a suicide booth. Fry ends up in the booth together with the robot, which is called Bender because he is a robot build to bend stuff. Bender is quite a kleptomaniac and also an alcoholic. He also has dreams about killing all humans. They both get out of the booth and become friends.
