The book Slaughter in Soweto, is about two young twin brothers, Marcus and John Ndanga, during the apardheid in South Africa. They lives in Soweto, witch is an enormous ghetto for black people. One of their very close friends, Susan, had just died. She was shot in the back of her neck, during a Peacefull demonstration, but the Police attacked without warning. That resulted in the death of Susan. The two brothers, had always been very good persons. They go to church, they were making their homework every day. They also helped the mom, Mama Ndanga.
One day on the home Marcus and john heard gunfire, first John would se who died but Marcus said that they had promised their mom not to get in trumble so they ran home. When they got home they rold their mom what they had hear. John said that he wanted to fight and join the demonstrations and that should use guns to fight the police but marcus said that they should wait till the police was weak and the fight. Their mom was very worried after hearing this, She didn’t want her boys to join the demonstrations. She thougth that the people in the demonstrations were troublemakers. That made John very angry, and he told his mother that they were just trying to break out of those horrible livng conditions.
