after the government in South Africa decided that the new main Teaching language in black schools must be Afrikaans. The black students disagree and that caused them to protest.the students filled the streets of Soweto with smile on their faces and bannes in the air that said “down with Afrikaans” and “Viva Azania” (the name given to South Africa by black nationalists).as they reached Phefeni school they were surrounded by armed police. There are some different stories of who started the fight. Some reporter says angry youths threw stones and beer bottles at the police in protest, other reporter tells the students were provoked by the police which threw tear gas grenades towards the protesters. Prime Minister Voster seemed to be furious about the riot and demanded an instant end on it, and explain that the students on purpose try to divide the population in black and white. Here blames Mr. Voster the black population to segregate the whites and the blacks. Subsequent emphasize Mr. Voster that he will not accept the riot and will maintain law and order at all costs.
