The book is about two black fourteen years old twins’ brothers named Marcus and John, who live in Soweto. Soweto is the name of a town in South Africa, which is an enormous ghetto for black people only. The two twins brothers went to the same school. It was really hard for them to be concentrated and learn in school, - there were not enough books and the classrooms were too old and small for up to forty pupils.

The classes were big , sometimes thirty or forty children. It was hard to learn and concentrate. There were not enough books and the classrooms were very old and small. Marcus and John liked to learn, but they didn?t like their school. John was sorry for his best friend Sara who was killed by soldiers and he was fed up school. So Marcus said to him: ?We have to work hard John. We have to get good exam results, and a good job?, But John just said that the good jobs are for the whites.
