I have chosen this topic because I think it is relevant for young people in the present, and because I think it's very interesting. One of the reasons I think this topic is interesting is because my friends and I has come to the time in our lives where we are invited to parties and for the first time will be confronted with alcohol. So I think it would be exciting to be a little wiser about what alcohol does to me if I drink it.
Alcohol it is classed as a depressant, meaning that it slows down vital functions. Resulting in slurred speech, unsure movement, disturbed opinions and an missing ability to react quickly.
They way alcohol affects the mind, is like a drug that reduces a person’s ability to think rationally
The amount of alcohol decide the type of effect. Most people drink for the stimulant effect, such as a beer or glass of wine taken to “loosen up.” But if a person drink more than the body can handle, they then experience the depressant effect. They start to act “stupid” or lose coordination and control.
Because young people’s bodies are still growing, alcohol can interfere with their development.
