Humans have been drinking alcohol for thousands of years. The first descriptions of alcohol was found in Egypt in a book called ‘The Dead Book’ which is over 3000 years before our time calculations (3000 years before Christ)Beer was a very important Egyptian drink. It was a drink for adults and children alike. It was the staple drink of the poor (wages were sometimes paid in beer), it was a drink of the rich and wealthy, and a drink offered to the gods and placed in the tombs of the dead. The first alcoholic drinks were presumably caused by natural fermentation by, for instance fruit. Normal fermentation processes stops when the alcohol percent reaches 10-15 percent.

The word Alcohol is from the Arabic word ‘al-kuhúl’ which means ‘The finest ingredients’

How the alcohol affects your brain, nobody knows. The only thing that people know is that it changes your understanding and the communication between the brain cells. Drinking has become very common, young people starts in a young age and its becoming a problem. It’s leading to crime, abuse and stupidity. Young people that drink before age 15 are four times more likely to develop alcohol dependence than those who begin drinking at age 21. Once I was at this birthday party, where a lot of young people were drinking and smoking. At first it was just a regular birthday party, where people were having fun and getting to know each other. All of a sudden these two guys, starts to yell at push each other Then one of the guys starts to punch the other guy in the face, and not only does he knock him out! He makes his friends help him as well, so there’s like 10 guys hitting this guy. After beating him up they decide to leave (I left the birthday party at the same time – Rest of the story, a friend told me). But the guy that was beaten up went after the other guy with a knife. It all went so fast, and 5 minutes after people hear this girl scream, everybody ran out to see what happened. The guy that started it all was lying on the ground. There was blood all over the footpath. The guy that was beaten up was sitting next to the guy crying. That’s when people realized that he was dead. The boy was sentenced 8 years in prison, and was a very near friend of mine.
