Who is Aslan? Aslan is a lion. He is the king of beasts. He is the only one who can defeat the white witch and rescue Edmund.
How do they manage to liberate Edmund? Peter kills one of the wolves with his sword. The other wolf escapes, but Aslan sends his creatures to follow it back to the white witch, and so they are able to liberate Edmund.
