The story is a fantasy written by Clive Staples Lewis from Belfast. He has written a series of seven books that all take place in the magical world Narnia, like this exerpt of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. The story is written in 1949, right after worldwar two.

I will focus on chracterizing the 4 children. I will furthermore write about the setting of the story, and the structure of the text. At last I will write a bit about the genre fantasy and the fantasy elements that we meet in the text.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of four children swept up into a war of good and evil in a magical fairy-land, with the great lion Aslan versus the evil White Witch, whose magic holds Narnia in the thrall of a hundred-year winter.

The story takes place in England during worldwar two and in the magical land of Narnia.

The main characters in the text are the four siblings Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter.

Lucy is the youngest of the 4 siblings who move into the house. She is a very curious girl and wants to explore everything. It is she, who discovers the magic wardrobe. But she is also very cautious, like it shows on page 26, line 9 and 10 where it says that she leaves the door open, because she knew it would be stupid to shut herself out. This shows that even though she is very inquisitive, she is also reasonable, which is not something you often see in a young girl. She is also a very sensitive and emotionel person like it shows on page 30 where both Lucy and her older sister Susan show alot of feelings when the lion Aslan rises from the dead.
