We all know the feeling of not being noticed, and that isn’t funny at all and we have all tried to forget something at home, like a phone, purse, watch and so on. In the text we meet Melissa, who seems forgetful. One day is Melissa at a meeting, where she forgets her phone and after the meeting she then takes the bus home, but she can’t find her phone at home. The phone lies on number 40 Rossendale Road, which is Melissa’s address. Here she lives with her boyfriend Simon. But the house is gone, therefore she chose to wait for Simon to come home. Suddenly a boy who looks like Simon goes by, and walks into a house, that looks similar as her and Simons house.
Melissa act as a person who is asocial inclined, because she at the meeting considers to take home, because they according to her doesn’t notice her. So it didn’t matter if she was there or not. Her and Simon has also not talked to their neighbours ever, which also is pretty odd. Also in her relationship, she acts kind of cautious towards her boyfriend, because he seems like being more dominating and a bit careless with what Melissa is thinking and what her opinion is. An example in the text could be “…on the table Simon bought last week, which she didn't like at all… He had bought it without consulting her, and when she'd started to say it wasn't to her taste, and that it would be great - now they were living together - if they could discuss such things beforehand, he'd looked so deflated she’d changed the subject”.
