Et engelsk essay om Engelske kostskoler, og sammenlignet med danske efterskoler. Fik 10 for mit essay, så det skulle gerne være forholdsvis godt.

A boarding school is a school where students go to school to learn and live together with some other students during the school year. If you decide to join a boarding school you will learn how to behave and act properly in high class society. Personally I would say that boarding school are not for middle class families, but for families that are well of. Boarding school life is not very widespread in Denmark, compared to the UK. However the history and tradition surrounding boarding schools goes back over hundreds of years. In the UK the boarding schools are extremely old. In both countries boarding schools are well ? known for holding on old traditions.? In UK it’s a tradition that everyone wears a matching uniform, so that everyone looks very much alike. Right now i am going on a continuation school called - Balle efterskole. Boarding school and continuation school has a few things in common, but most exciting is the decisive differences between them. First of all on a boarding school do you have the opportunity, to start in the age of eight. On a continuation school you can start up when you turn fourteen years old. Like every other school there is pros and cons ?to attending a boarding school. I believe there are more cons than pros, because it is often a selfish decision by the parents that is made. I was very shocked by the fact that it’s their parents decision if they have to go or not. That is a huge difference, because on a continuation school you have made the decision by yourself. In one of our english lessons we saw a movie about three boys, which were attended at a boarding school called “Harrow”. At the boarding school they only live boys together. At my continuation school we live both boys and girls together. The pupils at Harrow is very disciplined and motivated about their schoolwork, far more than us. Every student's goal is to be the perfect student. All the boys are very competitive with each other concerning their grades and who does best in lessons. One of the boys we followed in the movie read a book called “How to be the best at everything”. It gave me a good impression about how impassioned and ?determined? they are, compared to us. I would undoubtedly prefer the danish version of boarding school life, because a child in such a young age, as eight needs his loving family to be around, when he needs them. But on the other side the parents will ensure their children a good education, by sending them away. The question is: is it fair as a parent to send their children away? Well, in my opinion i will say no. I think a child belongs home until he is mature enough to handle himself. I think i will be alright to consider boarding school - but only if the child accepts it. The parents should talk with the child, before making these decisions. I would prefer continuation school because i think it would be a huge change from my everyday life. I think i would find it very hard trying to attend a boarding school in England, but It would be a very exciting experience. Living at a boarding school i would learn a whole lot of new things, and be more ambitious and confident. Living at a continuation school is fantastic, you live together with all your best friends. The community and the many friendships is one of the most important things about continuation school. On a continuation you make everything together, and even though you still wouldn't get tired of each other. Hopefully i will stay friends with many of my friends at
