Focus on structure, comprehension, and language
Assignment: write an analytical essay (approx. 350-450 words) on Rosalie Fish’ Ted Talk, “Running for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women”
Objective: to begin to become familiar with the structure of the funnel introduction, a body paragraph, and the analytical essay as a whole.
At the written exam, an analytical essay is supposed to be between 900 and 1,200 words. It will consist of an introduction, several analytical body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You will be given two specific focus points, and one of the body paragraphs is supposed to be a stylistic analysis. In addition, in non-fiction essays, you will be expected to relate your text to a short video and to give a general discussion of a set issue relating to the text.
