I was on my way to the spaceship. I was nervous. I had so many thoughts going on inside my head. “Are we going to make it?” “Do we have enough fuel?” “What if we crash?” And so on. I was standing right in front of the big spaceship. There was a tall red ladder we had to climb to get to the entrance. I climbed up first. My partner was climbing right behind me. When we got to the top there was a thick metal door. I pulled the handle. There was a large echo through the spaceship when I opened the door. We went in and sat down on the two chairs where the steering panel was. We strapped our seatbelts as tight as we could. I took a picture out of my pocket. It was a picture of my family. I looked at it for minutes. Out of nowhere a big speaker said: “1 minute to launch.” I looked at my partner. He looked scared. I took a deep breath and looked out through a small round window to my right. I could see a bunch of people. Almost everyone was taking pictures. “30 seconds to launch.” I looked at the steering panel to doublecheck if everything was in place. “15 seconds to launch.” The sweat started dripping from my face and down on my clothes. “10…9…8…” I took deep breaths. “7…6…5…4…” I took the picture out of my pocket and held it tight in my hand. “3…2…1…”
