I recall it, clearly. e greatest historical event in the science world, and to America, my home country. A victorious defeat against anyone who critiqued our nation, and our ability to evolve. July, 1969, the day I felt the American spirit and blood running through my veins. And anyone who tries to disagree with me and prove me wrong, must keep silent and mark my words. I, [NAVN A], born 12. December, 1950, witnessed with my own eyes, e very ?rst moon landing, and I will not let any jealous foreign nation spoil that!
An extraordinary feeling. Joy, curiosity and most of all, succes!
e sun shined upon all American citizens. Everyone were talking about it, some were impatient and couldn’t wait till 12 AM, and others would walk around making up unlimited amounts of theories that would supposedly prove it was a scam. We were standing at Kennedy Space Center, USA. Every minute that passed, got us closer to the one moment, where they would send the rocket, Apollo 11, into the air. It looked fabulous, absolutely stunning. It looked like something out of a sci-? cartoon, and re lected the sun as if it was born to trap attention from every person passing by. Neil Armstrong, one of my closest friends, was sitting in there. I always thought of him as an ambitious man, an achiever. And certainly, he was. A few moments later, it started. e big blast. It came as a chock, and every witness, as well as I, jumped. e facial expressions of the scientists were priceless, the project they have been working on for years, has ?nally succeeded. It warmed my heart to see such sight. All of Neil’s family members were excitingly looking at the giant rocket lying up into the air. To the moon, to be exact. Seconds later, it was far up in the air, carrying Neil Armstrong, the ?rst person to be landing on the moon. Tears ?lled the area, as the rocket lew out of sight. I hugged and congratulated all of his family members, before I le t the place, that has and will always be my best memory of all time.
