South Africa is big, the land area is 1.221.037 km2. They also have 11 deferent languages; their most spoken language is Afrikaans. The total population in South Africa about 43,1 million people. The highest mountains are the Drakensberg, of which the highest peak is Champagne Castle (3.376 m). The longest river, the Oranje (2.100 km), which flows from its source in the mountains of Lesotho westwards to end in the Atlantic Ocean. The hottest temperature is in the Kalahari Desert the temperature can reach 47oC. The lowest temperature is in the winter season in Johannesburg, it brings cold days of down to 5oC

History

ANC.

The ANC stands for ‘’Africans national Congress’’. The ANC wanted that the Black to break some of the rules that the government made. In1961 the ANC decided to fight against the government. In 1976 the children that was living in townships called Soweto began to protest in the street. In 1980 the world decided not to support the apartheid government anymore. In 1991 the apartheid government surrendered. In 1994 everyone could vote for a new government, and the vote for the ANC.
