Cape Town is a city placed at the foot of Table Mountain. In the start there were two tribes living there the khoi and the san. They hunted and picked berries, and then the blacks came from other African countries they there farmers and knew how to make weapons of iron. The blacks there much stronger than the Khoi and the San, and now there was very few of the khoi and the san’s. But then the Dutch people came to make a colony there they could supply the ships from Asia to the Netherlands with fresh food and water. They grew fruits in big gardens and built a harbor. But also the British wanted the Cape colony the British got charge of everything and the Dutch moved away from the coast.

Now Cape Town is a big city, with the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island on the left and the Indian Ocean on right. It’s called one of Gods windows you can stay in luxury hotels and shop in the pomades which look so nice with the oceans around and the table mountain in the back, it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Diamond industry:

South Africa is the main industry of diamonds they gets the diamonds from mines. The people who works in the mines has very bad conditions. It’s a hard work, and the miners can’t just go to the town if they want to, they have to ask the boss so he know what they want in town, that’s so they can’t steal a diamond and go to town for selling it. The security is very strict, there are big fenster’s around the mine areas the workers gets checked every day then they leave the mines and radio stirred plains aren’t allowed in big areas around the mines. If a worker steal a diamond and gets caught he lost he’s pension, that means he don’t get money after he stops working, and that can cause the family will die of hunger. Because often the miners are very poor and the payment isn’t very good too. The miners have invented a dance so they can talk over big distances it’s very smart because on that the workers didn’t have walky-talkies. There are two types of mines one there the diamonds is on the surface of the rock, then they just take it from the top and dig further and further down, it’s a big hole actually. Number 2 is then the diamonds lies in the middle of the mountain, they dig a tunnel into the mountain. Number 2 is quiet dangerous because then it rains a lot, the water mix with the sand and can cause big mud flushes which can drown the miners and ruin the mines.
