Climate: South Africa is located in two climatic zones. The northeastern part of South Africa lies in the tropical belt, while the rest of South Africa lies in the subtropical belt. The eastern coast has a mild and humid weather, but the western coast has a foggy, dry climate.
Geography: South Africa is the located at the most southern part of Africa. It has a long coastline. Actually the coastline stretches more than 2500 kilometres. South Africa is surrounded by two oceans: The South Atlantic Ocean and The Indian Ocean.
History: The first South Africans were the Khoi and the San. About 2000 years ago the first blacks Africans came and took the Khoi and the Sans land. In 1652 the Europeans came. They took the Khois, the Sans and the black Africans as slaves. Later the Boers and the English came. Now there is a mixed population.
Apartheid: Apartheid was a legal system, were the black was suppressed. There was busses, entrances etc. for the black and for the white. Black people were treated like slaves and animals. Apartheid existed between 1948 and 1996.
ANC: ANC stands for The African National Congress. It’s an organization, who fought against Apartheid.
