There are three kinds of celebrities. Those who have sacrificed their lives, as they have tried to make peace, those who have fought fatal diseases like cancer itself, and last but not least those, who are known for their entertainment and appearance… Most people would say that Whitney Houston belongs to the last mentioned group, the one that is eating caviar and drinking champagne and in other words is living the easy life. Sure, Whitney was an actress, a singer, producer and model, but after all she had her own battles too. The public just never noticed because she was so tremendously talented.
I personally like the fact that the fame didn’t destroy her. Whitney wasn’t the kind of celebrity who would spend a fortune to make herself look better. Instead she started a foundation for children charity that helped young people with cancer and AIDS, supported education programs for children in need, and several other great causes. Houston didn’t limit her charity. She was particularly active with other non-profits as well, and would probably still be today if she was alive, but no matter what she did, people were always craving for more.
Obviously she made herself a good reputation, because of all her marvelous actions. As the media says, she was “the golden girl”, but even “golden girls” can be troubled. To tell you the truth, it was like she was drowning in problems, but nobody saw her struggle. “I'd rather be alone than unhappy”, she actually mentions in one of her songs.
