South Africa’s history Apartheid. One of the biggest tragedies in history. Apartheid is a long time ago. It all started after the first white people came to south Africa, in 1488. Because of the different looks, there became discrimination. The black people hadn't really figured out life as well as the white people had. They didn't have as good clothes and resources, witch made them weaker than the whites. There therefor became slaves.
