1. How would you define the word "discrimination"?

Discrimination often happens when a certain group or individual treats others harmfully and unfairly because of their ideology of this person’s qualities, such as gender, race, skin color, sexuality, etc.…

2. Do you know of any countries where certain groups of people are discriminated against? Discuss and give examples.

In China, Uyghurs are discriminated against, but what China is doing to the Uyghurs goes far beyond discrimination. It went from discrimination to genocide, where millions of Uyghurs are imprisoned, tortured, separated from their children, sexually abused, and more, millions of Uyghurs are imprisoned in a concentration camp in China, it is one of the largest incarcerations of a religious minority since the Holocaust. China is basically trying to eradicate a whole ethnic minority because they feel threatened by the growth and fear for the social stability in their country, therefore they think it's a better idea to imprison them and harm them. This also applies to the elderly and children, and it is not talked about enough!
