American Culture: Traditions and Customs of the United States
-What is a melting pot?
It’s different groups of immigrants. Melting through the system.
-What can you say about the American language?
It’s basically British but with a different accent. It’s very “slang” and they short words down and make some up like “huh”
-What can you say about America and religion?
Americans are known to be very religious. Religions like Christianity especially is a big part of their lives and going to church is something that belongs in their everyday. As the newer generations arrive? The religion is kind of fading. For a lot of the youth this still remains an important part since they grew up with it.
-What is American style?
The American don’t really focus on style as much as we do. Of Couse some do, many expensive brands are founded by an American. They have school uniforms in many schools witch we don’t have. In Denmark I think we really dress to impress. On the other side when they really need to dress up like at prom they really go big. And we would never do that. Their houses are really cheap build. Our isn’t, its quality because we are a cold country.
