Amish: kultur, traditioner og retten til at være anderledes

In this world, we can find many minorities of people practicing their own cultures and traditions. We are living in a modern society so we respect all kinds of cultures and traditions, no matter where they are from or to which religion they belong too. All have right to maintain their dignity. The Amish is one of them, which is far cry from our modern way of living.

In Amish community, there are lot of rules and regulations which has to be followed otherwise they get shun from their community. They believe in the saying of Bible, which strongly reflects their way of life. Amish people help each other in need as they show humility to every person in their community. There is unity in diversity among people. In the context of Amish people, they are allow to choose whether they want to follow Amish tradition or adapt modern ways. On the other hand, they are not permit to see their family again if they choose the English lifestyle. There are many differences between Amish and normal people as they think it`s a sin to get influenced by a modern tools and inventions. Their cultures and traditions provides us incentives to engage in their activities which is distinct from ours but we can learn many good things from them like respecting elders, financial support, their modesty and obedient behavior etc. Amish are the example of people in the ancient age because they are not using electricity, using horses as a mean of transportation, leaving everything to God rather than going to hospital and even more. In this 21st century we can still find the number of people who are as same in the primitive age but they are being a bit modern than their forefathers. The one thing I found interesting in Amish society is about Rumspringa when they get to experience the outside world. Their different way to behave is the thing, which pull our attention towards them. Actually, we can say that they have the thinking of simple living and high thinking”. They are very different from us but they have the same feeling of humanity inside the heart. Leaving school without complete graduation is only thing I do not like about Amish people. They have the right to be different but higher education must be compulsory because education is the pre-requisites of development.
