Aborigines are a human population in Australia. There is about 400.000 aborigines in Australia, that is 2 % of the hole population. The aborigines live in the nature; they hunt their own food or take it from trees.
The Aborigines have a tradition, so when the boys are around the ago of 10-16 they go on a walkabout. On a walkabout you have to take care of yourself in the nature for about 6-8 months. If the boy doesn’t come back from a walkabout the family know they wouldn’t be strong enough for a life as a aborigine. And they also know that the boy is probably dead.
Aborigines are the only human population who doesn’t wear any kind of clothes. Both men and women are naked. But of course today there is different rules, they have to wear clothes, just like other Australians.
Aborigines also play and dance to a lot of music. One of the most popular is dijeridoo. Is a very long piece of wood with a hole in the middle, and then they blow through it, and It makes a loud and deep sound. Some aboriginals teach non-aboriginal people how to play on a dijeridoo.
Dance is also very important for the aboriginals. Especially in the spiritual and ceremonial life. They express themselves when they dance. Some aboriginals even take around Australia to perform, with old and new dances.
