Why did I choose this topic?
I choose this topic because I have always had an interest in people’s equality. I thought racism were a topic that was very close. It is a topic you can discuss in many different ways, with different point of views. It is a relevant topic for our society. We need to teach the new youth about equality, so the generations can create a new society without the racism.
Why do black people like Oprah Winfrey not get the same credit as White people, when the same job is done?
A very big part of this is all the prejudice in this case. White people are used to be seen in the limelight. The movie ´Hidden figures´ is a great example on black people doing the job, but white people getting the credit, just like in real life. It is about three woman solving math equations that no white engineer had ever been able to do. They were so talented and intelligent that they ended up solving the equations that send spaceships into space for NASA. Hidden figures is also a movie based on true events. It shows very well that it is the past that has lead us to were we’re now. Black people haven’t always been accepted, which was a thing we luckily realized we needed to change. Oprah Winfrey came from a very poor family, but ended up as one of the richest African-american womens.
