Volunteering in Africa
Hello, my name is Mads I come from Denmark and for my gap year I would like to go to Namibia to Volunteer for a conservation farm. I am 16 years old, currently attending a Danish international boarding school where I in January went to Namibia for two weeks and had the best time ever. I live in a small city called Kjellerup in the middle of Jutland in my spare time I enjoy my time with friends and good people. When I am together with my friends we just enjoy spending time with each other. In weekends, I enjoy a good party like last weekend me and about 50 other students from my boarding school went to a city called Silkeborg and participated in an event where you would walk approx. 4 kilometres and drink a whole case of beer in groups of 3. Anyway, ever since my trip in January I’ve been sick to go back to all the animals and do a difference again. I would appreciate if it would be possible to go to same farm as I visited in January it’s a farm called Na’an Kusë they work nation-wide in Namibia and have 5 different locations in Namibia where they work with Cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and so many more animals. Also, they have a health clinic for the local bush people so that the people who can’t afford health care can get it anyway. The whole project is supported by a rich Belgian man who constantly checks up on the farm to make sure they run it properly. Also, the farm is supported by Angelina Jolie who visit the farm from time to time. When I get to Na’an Kusë I expect to develop in so many ways just like I did in the two weeks I’ve already spend there. I expect to become more aware of the damages that people have on animals when we destroy their environment and just become a better and nicer person (also I expect to get a crazy tan) I hope that I will get to do baboon walk witch is when the baboons have to go for their daily walk it is a truly amazing experience where you get to become a taxi for the baboons who jumps from person to person and climbs on your face. Also, I would love to do large carnivore feeding. When I visited in January I went on large carnivore feeding it was truly amazing to see the lions jump 1-2 meters up in the air and watch them catch the meat in mid-air, I will never forget that trip. I’ve since January just been waiting to return to what almost feel like home when I am there. I would also like to see the farms other locations that I never got to experience like their elephant recovery centre where I last week saw a post from where they put tracking collars on the elephant (or as they call them Versace neckless) I would truly be amazing to be able to go back and I wish you can help me do just that
