My Gap Year From: [email protected] to: [email protected] Hello My Gap Year! I'm applying for my gap year and I hope to hear more from you. Myself: My name is Nicholas im 20 years old, I come from Denmark, and I live in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen. Over the past few years I have been studying, and I'm finally finishing my exams this summer. I have been going to school since I can remember and I think now is the time to leave Denmark and start an adventure and explore more about other people's culture. all my life I have always been the type of guy to go out of my comfort zone, to press myself to ask a stranger or start a conversation with random people. I love hearing about how other people live or how they're culture is different to mine, I think it is exciting and inspiring. Currently, I am a volunteer for kids with hard learning. I help them with subjects like math or reading, I think it's a great job because I'm working with kids and I love helping people that have it hard whether it is people that are addicts or just need some good love in life. I always wanted travel when I was little, but my family didn't really have the money to spend on a vacation. So now that I am older I'm ready to go leave Denmark and have a great year in a foreign country My Choice: would to become a volunteer in Africa, and help the kids in Africa. Here in Denmark, we see a lot of commercials on television about how they live their life. people are able to support with money, and I have myself used my own money to donate to kids in Africa. I get a good feeling when I'm donating because it might just save multiple kids. To go from a donator to actually be down there helping and teaching kids, would be a huge step for me in the right direction in my life. If I do travel to Africa, I want to be teaching the kids in subjects like English or math, because I think it's where I can help them the most of, and where they are able to use these things I learn them in their life. My Developing: when I'm done in Africa I will have more of an acute mind, but also a step towards my career as a teacher. I will have a more understanding about who I am as a person and be grateful about the people and things I got in my life. it will only develop me into a more intellectual person. When I get older I can look back at some of the best memories I had in Africa teaching kids. I hope to be hearing more from you, and I'm looking forward to all the experiences in the near future.
