At the moment I am staying in the US as an exchange student. Fortunately I am here to witness the electioneering before returning to Denmark next near. It has really been thrilling to follow the primary election. It is really fascinating to see how my classmates are divided into two groups. They stand by either Barack Obama or John McCain who are candidates representing two different visions how to rule the US.

Barack Obama, The First Black President?

Obama was born 4 August 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, as a son of an American mother and a Kenyan father. Obama is a graduate in political science and international politic of Colombia University. After university Obama worked with improving the conditions of the poor district in southern part of Chicago. Later he left Chicago and studied law at Harvard University. Now Barack Obama has the chance to be the first black president of the United States of America.

Barack Obama as Mister Popular.

Obama is representing the democrats in the US and he won the primary election against the other popular democrat Hilary Clinton, well known as the wife of the former president of the US. This really manifests the popularity of Obama. Obama is a very fair man who point out that the election is not based on media hypes or personal ambitions. He is not personal in his arguments based on the case of McCain’s running mate Governor Sarah Palin´s teenage daughter was having a baby. Obama never mentioned the case, where others would have caught the chance to be personal. Obama want to change the politics and he want to do what he finds right for the country. Obama is interested in the economy in the US and especially in these times where the finance crises are increasing. Contrary to McCain, is Obama against the war in Iraq. He had mentioned in a debate with McCain that the war in Iraq had been fatal for US, not only because of the all the brave soldiers, who have lost their life, but also because of the economic aspects. Obama is dissatisfied with USA spending 10 billion dollars a month on the war in Iraq. Obama want to reduce the financing of the troops to help solve the finance crises at home. Furthermore Obama want to do something about the dependence on oil. He wants to reduce the Co2 escape by making wind energy. These are some of the things, which have made him so popular, but also the fact that he is black, has drawn many votes. Obama has not made it a secret that there have been some contrasts between black and whites. In a 30 minutes speech with the headline “A More Perfect Union” Obama bewitched both black and whites by talking about the historical contrasts between black and whites.
