Hello, my name is [NAVN A]. I am currently 16 years of age. I am attending a boarding school to finish my 10th grade. The school is located in a small town in Denmark called Mariager with somewhere between 5000-10000 citizens in it. In my spare time, I like doing a wide range of things such as playing soccer, discussing issues with my friends and playing video games.
I am quite bored by school at the moment. I mean, I’ve been in school for 11 years in a row now. That’s a lot. Therefore, I’d like to have gap year before I go the gymnasium/high school. Personally, I think it would be a good idea to be doing something reasonable during that year. I thought of volunteering abroad in an English-speaking country. That would be a good idea for several reasons. First of all, I like teaching stuff, so that other people can be able to the same stuff as I am. I’ve heard that kids are quite easy to teach, because they do not really care if they make a mistake. They just carry on like nothing ever happened. It’s backed up by science. Second of all, I’m good with kids. My parents keep telling me that it seems I have got some skills to handle conflicts and solve them in a good and non-violent way, which I choose to perceive as a compliment. And that’s the reason I would to be teaching English to kids/teenagers. If I had the choice to go wherever I wished, I’d probably choose somewhere in Africa, where they would be in huge need of teachers. That’s where my help is needed the most, so that’s where I’d go.
