The short story begins with Marcus, who is working at a landfill. Marcus and his colleagues often get irritated by a trespasser, who is a young woman. The young woman, who is, known as Suzy takes photographs of the landfill for a university project.

Marcus pursues her out of the landfill again, and he wonder why she´s not taking pictures of something beautifully instead. He searches the area and finds out the young woman is staying in an improvised shelter. She is cooking some burgers, and she offers him one. They started a conversation about themselves and their lives. Suzy tries to convince Marcus that the landfill looks like wings and it is beautiful, but Marcus isn't convinced.

Marcus and Suzy went to the landfill together where she shows Marcus, how she got past the fence. Marcus chases her again after she took some photos, but this time Suzy gets hurt. Marcus takes care of the wounds and tells Suzy that her shelter would be destroyed in a month.

A week passes away and Marcus decides to go to Suzy’s improvised shelter. He does not find Suzy or any trace of her, only some photos of him where he is treating her wounds and when he is in the landfill. On the back of the images, has Suzy written: it is never too late to start over. Marcus walks back to the yard of the landfill; he realized that, indeed, it looks like wings.
