America...the land of opportunities, the land of dreams and the land of freedom...or is it? The number of school shootings has doubled since 2017, but what is the due to that? There is probably no specific reason. It’s more about that everything has gone too far I think. However, it’s not exclusively the fault of the US gun law. The Americans are saying for themselves that they cannot protect themselves without guns, and that’s a really serious statement. They buy guns as we buy new phones, and in most cases, they buy way too powerful and big weapon, that they actually don't have in need. They do it to protect themselves from a break in. Why? Because the offender also has a gun. Therefore it’s just one big bad circle that is hard to break out of. According to Peggy's statement I do mean she’s right in some way , because murder does happen every day all around the world. Although I think that their gun law carries much of the fault when it comes to school shootings, scared inhabitants, poverty and crime. But then again, I don't really know if it would make it all better if they choose to remove the second amendment. That would just make it all worse in my opinion. The Americans have always carried guns. It’s a natural part of them and their violent past. It’s something that lies deep in them, and therefore also something that digs way deeper if you chooses to change the things. Some may say that there need to be some more serious restrictions when you buy a gun, but I don't quite agree on that. I mean, minors shouldn’t be allowed to buy guns at all, because when we take a look, at who these perpetrators are, then we see that most of them are lonely adolescents with mental problems. They are ruined by things from their childhood. So for them to easily be able to buy a gun is just not healthy or responsible. Therefore you need to change the negative past and intervene beforehand to prevent school shootings, drive-by shootings, and such things from happening frequently in the future. You need to be better at keeping an eye on people, especially those you know have a hard time, and where you in the early stages already can start spotting the negative traits. Something just as important is the political aspect and how much power the US Government has right now. Therefore I think that someone or something really needs to take control over the situation in the upcoming years. The Americans need to change their whole mentality and behavior, otherwise, we can question mark whether there is a future for the US at all?
