The Frontier Heritage was written by Edward N. Kearny in 1984.
Part one
The frontier is truly fascinating for Amacrines, because of its importance in creating and forming their national values. When the first colonists were settled on the east coast of the continents in the 1600s, the frontier began and ended around 1890. America is parted into two parts, eastern America and western America. Americans has settled down in the east and slowly stated to discover the unsettled West. By always moving the Frontier, the Americans moved across the whole country. The frontier lead to many inspiring examples of hard work as forests were turned into towns. The western America provided endless stories of high adventure such as the gold rush. Freedom was highly valued. The Americans had a strong self believe and the willingness to experiment and think that every problem has a solution led to another American trait. Many Americans saw the frontier as a new opportunity to advance themselves. If an American experienced disappointment or failure they simply just moved west to the Frontier to make a new beginning. The power distance was also lower in the Frontier than in the settled area.
Part two
The Europeans came to America and settled down in the east. The Europeans took more land as the time went on. The Indians who was living in the west was promised ceasefire, but many Englishmen went against the ceasefire and took over lands. Therefore, the Indians land got smaller and the Europeans land grew. The frontier progress is used as an term for an cultural progress that created peace and independence from others and equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of their background. The frontier moved longer to the west and also created national character and democracy.
