Success is something you will reach if you work hard, unless you are born into it. That is something a real American should stand for, at least according to the basic American values and beliefs. Under the rising of America, many immigrants shared a dream, and a set of values. These people believed that everyone should start the race of life equally. They believed in individual freedom and self-reliance, equal competition and that hard work will pay off by material wealth. They all had something in common which formed a country of success. Now the big question is, can these old basic American beliefs and values still be seen in the modern country we call America, or have they been falling apart?
Everything goes through changes both cities, countries, societies and most important of all people. The change of people is what changes things around us, and as we go through changes new beliefs and values will appear. But something that have not changed is the fact that America is built by immigrants from all over the world who have taken their old traditions with them when they left the country that they came from. Therefore, people define the country as a melting pot, which can be argued for being a good thing or a bad thing. On the bright side people can learn from one another, different foods, traditions and abilities can be combined. On the other side people who have different traditions can lead to controversial difficulties between nationalities and beliefs.
