Marge Turner has a pretty positive impression of the Danes. I think many tourists share some of her opinions of the Danes. I know an American couple who's biggest interest is traveling. They have traveled to many places from Denmark to France, Russia, and South Africa. Their opinion of the different countries, are that the Danes are the most smiling and greeting hosts different from France where they weren't impressed at all. They told os, that the French never smiled, if you spoke a different language than their own.
Well, back to Marge Turner. I think most of her impressions are true in some sort. We're a smiling nation, we can leave our babies, umbrellas, and bikes and most of the time expect them to be their, when we come back.
Denmark is a country with a lot of weight put on cosiness. Most families in Denmark have a day or evening, where they sit together, watching television or playing games. In most houses there's candy on the table at these occasions.
I do think that Denmark is one of the countries with a good balance between the past, presence, and future.
We have an interesting history in Denmark, with the vikings going on rampaging raids in most of Europe. We've had a lot of conflicts throughout time, with our neighbour countries, Sweden and Germany. We've also had mutually conflicts with our monarchy, and that makes our past interesting and worth learning about.
