Teen pregnancy is when a female under 20 years gets pregnant
Why does it happen?:
Some teens, particularly those who are 18 and 19, have made a decision to have a baby because they are in a stable relationship and want to start a family.
Others reasons could be: contraception failure, not thinking, being drunk and believing they couldn’t get pregnant.
Most vulnerable?:
Unaware teens who doesn’t know about the consequences of having a child, and what it takes to take care of a child every single day.
Does ethnicity make a difference? - Yes it does, for example in Denmark there isn’t many people who suffer from poverty, so we can afford to spend money on contraception like condoms and birth control pills. But in many poor countries they cant afford it, and therefore there is a bigger chance of them getting pregnant. The different religions also makes a big difference in some countries, in some religions they are not allowed to have sex before marriage, which explains why some countries have a very low rate of teen pregnancy.
Pros and cons:
Loss of education
Medical issues
Lower income
Responsibility
Understanding (understands the child better because of the small age difference)
