A girl was having a pleasant dream when what sounded like knocking wakened her. She assumed that the sound was coming from the window until she heard that the sound was coming from the mirror on the wall. She saw a handprint on the mirror, she tried to wipe it off, only to find out that the print was on the other side of the mirror. Precipitously, she saw a translucent shadow in the mirror. It stepped out from the wall behind the girl, but when she turned around to face it, there was nothing there. The girl was anxious. Furthermore, she was trembling and quivering irrepressibly. The girl thought that it was eccentric, that the shadow only appeared in the mirror. Consequently, she looked closer and saw a little girl with long, dark hair and pale, white skin. She gazed vacuously into the mirror with wide, horrified eyes. The girl grabbed a candle holder and shattered the mirror into fragments. She watched the glass pour from the frame like a crystal waterfall. The next morning the mirror hang untouched on the wall. From that night, the shadow emerged every night in the mirror.
