What was special about the Swedish designed cars?

Volvo and Saab, were designed to tolerate Nordic climate conditions. Their designs were known for their minimalistic and simplistic designs.

What kind of company was SAAB before they started making cars?

Saab was an aeroplane manufacturer at the time when Sixten Sason and Gunnar Ljungström designed one of their earliest car designs, the UrSaab 92001. "Ursaab" means "original Saab", and this car, also known as X9248, was the first of four prototype cars made by the company. This Saab can now be found in the Saab Car Museum in Trollhättan.

Why do you think SAAB went over to make cars instead of planes?

Because there weren't a big request for plains after the world war 2. but there was a big request for cars as for there weren't that many in Scandinavia

They where special for their motor sport designs. Some of the famous brands from Italy and French is. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Lancia. fiat
